Team Green returned in full force at May’s Star Wars-themed Milton Keynes Marathon Weekend, proudly running to support Milton Keynes Hospital Charity and raise funds for projects across all wards and departments at MKUH.
From start to finish, our incredible runners showed determination, spirit and community pride – and we are so grateful to each and every one of them for their support.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part – the force was truly with Team Green! We can’t wait to do it all again in 2027.
The Rocket 5K Race
The first event of the weekend, the Rocket 5K, saw runners set off from Central Milton Keynes before taking on a fast, mostly flat route towards Stadium MK. With the finish line in sight and the cheers of the crowd ringing out, participants were carried through to a triumphant finish.
This year, we were delighted to have Moira and Vanessa from MKUH taking part, alongside our fantastic supporters from C&B Electrical, PCI, Total Intimacy Church and Numiscan.
Well done to all of #TeamGreen – we are incredibly proud of you!
The Milton Keynes Half Marathon
The Milton Keynes Half Marathon showcases the beauty and character of the city, taking runners on a scenic route through five of MK’s original villages—each rich in history, with charming thatched cottages and centuries-old churches—before finishing in spectacular style at Stadium MK.
This year, we were thrilled to see so many supporters take on the challenge. Runners from PCI, C&B Electrical Contractors, Smith Construction and Total Intimacy Church joined members of #TeamMKUH, including Sue from our Pharmacy team, Kelly from the Charity team and Kelly from our Finance team. Sue made the day even more special by turning it into a true family affair, with her loved ones joining her on the course. We were also delighted to have Thomas taking part in support of his partner who works at MKUH.
For some, the race held deeply personal meaning. Cheryl Martin took on her very first half marathon alongside her 17-year-old daughter Charlotte, raising funds for NICU in gratitude for the care given to her grandson Myles:
“The wonderful team there saved his life and our family could never repay them… this is our way to give a little bit back.”
Mark Martucci also ran in memory of his granddaughter Poppy, raising funds to support the hospital’s baby bereavement services:
“This run is our way of honouring her short but precious life… and supporting families through their hardest times.”
From first-time runners to seasoned participants, every member of #TeamGreen showed incredible determination, heart and generosity.

The Milton Keynes Marathon

This year, we were proud to have runners from PCI and C&B Electrical Contractors take on this incredible distance in support of Milton Keynes Hospital Charity. Their commitment, endurance and dedication are truly inspiring.
