The Inner Wheel Newport Pagnell, which has been in existence for 100 years, has raised a tremendous £2,500 for the Neonatal Unit at Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH) through its year-long programme of fundraising activities.
That’s not all…
They also raised £50 for the hospital’s Butterfly Volunteers Service by selling beautifully handcrafted butterflies and knitted teddies…
And, to commemorate 100 years of The Inner Wheel, members created this wonderful ‘100’ display of the colourful crochet butterflies to present to Lauren, our Butterfly Volunteers Coordinator. We then carefully ‘released’ the butterflies so they can be given to end-of-life patients and their loved ones at MKUH.
Introducing MKUH’s Neonatal Unit
Just before the presentations, Diane and Nicola gave an informative and engaging talk about the Neonatal Unit at MKUH. They presented statistics around admissions, as well as highlighting how the team continually improves the quality of the services provided for babies and their families.
They also brought plenty of items, like feeding tubes, journals, baby clothes, cuddle blankets, and hand-knitted items.
Special thanks to Diane and Nic
As the Inner Wheel decided to support the NNU specifically through their fundraising, Diane and Nic fielded plenty of questions and received lovely feedback from the members.
They told us they thoroughly enjoyed the talk and were delighted to have our #TeamMKUH join them at their meeting.
To the Inner Wheel of Newport Pagnell
Thank you for your incredible support over the past year. Your generosity will have a direct impact on patients and families at Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH).
