“The care and kindness shown by all was and still is brilliant. From the lady that made tea, the cleaning staff, nurses and obviously Mr Dungawalla – each and every one of the staff are brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble. I’m so very grateful to every one of you.”
Darren raised more than £500 for the cancer centre through a sponsored walk, to say thank you for the care he received there in 2020 after being diagnosed with cancer.
“I was able to receive an exceptional treatment on the NHS which I will be forever grateful for.”
After being diagnosed with cancer at the age of 35, Alicja completed her treatment and received the all-clear in January 2021. She took on the couch to 5km challenge and ran the MK Half Marathon for the care centre and breast care unit!
“Alfie went into an incubator the moment he was born. Two days in, he stopped breathing and had to be intubated. He had a hole in one of his lungs which had caused it to collapse. It was a horrible time but the staff were out of this world. This is our chance to give something back.”
