The Redway Runners choose Milton Keynes Hospital Charity to be their 2025-2026 Charity of the Year

The Redway Runners

If you live in Milton Keynes, you will no doubt have passed a runner in a bright green t-shirt before. Perhaps they were wearing one of our Milton Keynes Hospital Charity t-shirts but the chances are they were probably more likely to be a Redway Runner.

The Redway Runners are an award winning community running club. Started back in 2011, the club now has over 3200 members, making it one of the largest running clubs in the UK. The club is a place to have fun and get fit, in a friendly environment that welcomes all abilities.

In November 2024 His Majesty the King granted the Redway Runners the King’s Award for Voluntary Services. This is the highest award that can be given to voluntary organisations, it is the MBE for volunteer groups and is part of the UK honours system. The club will retain this award permanently.

The Redway Runners and Milton Keynes Hospital Charity

This year the Redway Runners have supported a number of projects at Milton Keynes University Hospital including the Clothing Project and our 40th birthday “show love for your local hospital” run, where we asked the club if they could design a route that incorporated our theme of “show love for your local hospital and celebrated MKUH’s 40th birthday year. They did not disappoint with their #💚40 run.

Charity of the Year 2025-2026

On Thursday 15th May, the club held it’s AGM and members voted for Milton Keynes Hospital Charity to be the official charity of the year. Since then, our first fundraising event – the Furzton Relay has been organised and the gardeners amongst the club, have already adopted our allotment garden at MKUH.

It’s going to be an exciting year! Make sure you subscribe to our newsletter for updates.
