Reflecting on Easter 2026 at MKUH

An “Eggceptional” Start to Easter

We kicked off our Easter celebrations in the best possible way when the Tin Soldiers Scooter Club rolled into Milton Keynes University Hospital with an “eggstraordinary” delivery!

They arrived with mountains of Easter Eggs for our young patients, spreading huge smiles across the children’s wards and for patients and families who were taking a moment to enjoy the sunshine outside our Eaglestone Restaurant.

An “Eggstra” Special Delivery

We were then delighted to welcome another generous delivery of Easter‑themed soft toys from long‑time supporter David Ashford. David is one of our most dedicated regular donors, and his thoughtful gifts brighten the hospital experience for so many of our young patients.

Throughout the year, David carefully selects soft toys that bring comfort and joy to our tiniest patients in the maternity departments, as well as to children and young people spending time in hospital.

David’s continued kindness has made a real difference across the hospital, and we’re incredibly grateful for the joy he brings to our patients and staff alike.

A Fantastic turnout at our MKUH Easter Marketplace

Our Easter Marketplace was a wonderful success, bringing creativity and community spirit to MKUH. Over the course of the event, staff, patients and visitors came together to browse a vibrant selection of stalls offering handmade gifts, sweet treats, seasonal crafts and Easter surprises.

The fabulous MKUH catering team also had a delicious selection of loaded hot cross buns on offer!

Thanks to the brilliant support from our traders and the incredible generosity of everyone who visited, the marketplace helped raise valuable funds for projects that enhance the experience of patients, families and staff across Milton Keynes University Hospital.

Eggstraordinary Generosity From Our Community

We were absolutely overwhelmed by the incredible generosity shown by our community. Thanks to the kindness of local businesses, community groups, and supporters, hundreds of Easter eggs were donated for patients across a wide range of wards and departments at MKUH.

These thoughtful gifts brought smiles to patients and families who spent Easter in hospital – helping to lift spirits and make their stay feel a little brighter.

We would like to share a heartfelt thank you to the amazing organisations who donated so generously:

Your kindness has genuinely made a difference to patients and families spending time with us over the Easter period. We’re so grateful for the continued support of our local community – Thank you for being part of something truly special.

Eggstraordinary Displays of Kindness

We were delighted to welcome two wonderful families whose kindness helped make the season brighter for our young patients at MKUH.

The Bicknell family visited the hospital with a fantastic delivery of Easter eggs for our Children’s Wards. Their thoughtful gesture brought big smiles to the children spending time with us over the holiday period, helping to make their day feel a little more special.

We were also thrilled to see the return of long‑standing supporters, the Lovell family, who once again organised their much‑loved Easter Egg Hunt within their community. Each year, participants are encouraged to not only enjoy the fun but also to bring along a toy for our young patients.

The response was exceptional. Sophie and Emmie, alongside mum Chloe, arrived at MKUH with an incredible collection of gifts — a delivery that brought joy, comfort and excitement to children and families across our wards.

We are so grateful to both families for their generosity, creativity and continued support. Their kindness helped make Easter truly memorable for our young patients and the teams who care for them.

Thank you for helping us bring smiles, comfort and a little Easter magic to MKUH.

An Eggstra special Easter Bake Sale and Raffle at MKUH

This Easter, one of our amazing fundraising volunteers, Judith, brought incredible community spirit – and plenty of delicious treats – to the Main Entrance with her Easter Bake Sale and raffle.

Supported by her wonderful helpers Jacqueline and Ivy, the bright, welcoming stall filled with homemade bakes, Easter‑themed goodies and a fantastic raffle drew in staff, patients and visitors throughout the day. The cakes were a huge hit, with many people returning for seconds!

Every penny raised thanks to the team’s hard work, kindness and baking brilliance will go towards projects that enhance experiences for patients, families and staff across Milton Keynes University Hospital.

We are so grateful to Judith, Jacqueline and Ivy for giving their time, talent and enthusiasm to support MKUH Charity. Their efforts made a real difference – and added a wonderful touch of Easter joy to the hospital.
