We were delighted to welcome back students and staff from Milton Keynes College to MKUH as part of their inspiring College in the Community Day – a city‑wide initiative that saw learners volunteering their time, skills and creativity to support organisations across Milton Keynes.
At MKUH, their enthusiasm, talent and generosity made a wonderful impact on our patients, families and staff.

Activities throughout the Day at MKUH
Across the hospital, students supported a variety of uplifting activities that brought joy, comfort and creativity to our wards and public spaces:
- Patisserie students created a beautiful Afternoon Tea for patients receiving care in our Cancer Centre – a thoughtful treat that added a moment of calm and comfort to their day.
- Inclusive learning students baked biscuits for patients, families and staff at MKUH – handing them out outside our Eaglestone Restaurant and in our Main Entrance area.
- Beauty students offered mini manicures and hand massage in our main entrance areas and also visited wards.
- Performing Arts students filled the hospital restaurant with live music, creating a warm and vibrant atmosphere for everyone stopping by for lunch or a well‑earned break.
- MK College Tutors rolled up their sleeves to tidy and refresh our Creative Courtyard – a space enjoyed by staff and visitors throughout the year.
